Origins

With more than 20 years of experience in the field of human trafficking, Jennisue Jessen knows the depths of trauma a body can endure. She was sold into sex trade at age four by her step-grandfather, but God provided for her rescue and escape after a failed suicide attempt at age 17.

Jennisue and her husband, KJ founded Compass 31 in 2011 in response to the unfolding of redemption in their own lives. Compass 31, an international non-governmental organization, provides a holistic model of restoration for survivors of exploitation empowering them to move into lives of purpose and impact.

As a result of her extensive domestic and international counter-trafficking work, Jennisue was inspired to create Echoes of Eden Collective. What she had faced in her 20+ years of experience, was often the darkest corners of humanity. Daily, she has witnessed the greed and lust that drives one human to use and devour another. Darkness and chaos and void were not just on the margins, but lurking at every turn. 

But once upon a time, at the beginning of all time, our world also existed, and was defined by darkness. God's Spirit hovered over the chaos and void and cried out, "Let there be light!" And there was light, and it was good. In the Garden of Eden, humankind experienced perfect relationship and perfect beauty and it was good.

Echoes of Eden Collective was conceived with this in mind. Still there is darkness and chaos and void. And still, the Spirit hovers calling Light into existence. Eternity is carved into each of our hearts and deep within us is the echo calling us to return to all that is beautiful, connected, safe and good. Therefore, the mission of Echoes of Eden Collective is to call light into existence by empowering those that have experienced commercial sexual exploitation to lead beautiful lives. We accomplish this through a social enterprise that provides an unparalleled, artisanal skin care line.
